《法学》is a prestigious peer-reviewed legal research journal published by the East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL). Founded in 1956, the journal is one of the earliest legal journals established in the People’s Republic of China and has long been recognized for its strong academic influence and distinctive focus on contemporary Chinese legal issues.

Since its inception, 《法学》has remained committed to integrating legal theory with practice and to exploring cutting-edge issues in China’s legal and judicial development. The journal emphasizes rigorous and innovative academic research grounded in China’s social reality and judicial practice, while maintaining a strong focus on forward-looking and substantive legal scholarship.

To facilitate the international dissemination of Chinese legal scholarship and promote academic exchange between Chinese and international legal communities, the English edition of 《法学》Law Science was launched in 2022. Published by William S.Hein & Co., Inc. and Wells Information Services Inc. (USA) quarterly, the English edition features both original research articles written in English and English translations of selected articles originally published in the Chinese edition. It focuses particularly on major developments in Chinese law and legal practice, as well as Chinese scholars’ research and perspectives on important international legal issues.

The English edition of 《法学》Law Science aims to enhance the international visibility of Chinese legal scholarship, provide international readers with a better understanding of China’s legal developments, and foster dialogue and exchange within the global legal academic community.
